Begin by creating a free account on Meet Your Legend. Next, visit the Offers page to select and subscribe to one of our plans. After validating your subscription and confirming your credits are available, browse through our mentors’ profiles. Choose a mentor that matches your needs and check their availability for an open slot. Once you find a suitable time, complete the required form with your details and confirm your session. This approach helps you secure a mentorship session that aligns with your goals.
Start by booking a 30-minute session to discuss any topics you choose. When you schedule your session, use the form to specify the subjects you want to cover. During the session, your mentor will answer your questions, assist with complex decisions, offer advice on your project, and share their industry knowledge. This approach provides focused and relevant guidance tailored to your needs.
After booking a mentorship session, you will receive a confirmation email with all the essential details, including the date, time, and your mentor’s name. Use this email to share your session goals and links to your portfolio or demo reels with your mentor. Once you’ve completed these steps, just wait for your session to start!
During a mentorship session, follow these guidelines to ensure a productive and respectful experience. First, arrive on time and stay focused throughout the meeting. Maintain a professional appearance, even for video calls, and approach the conversation with an open mind, setting aside personal ego.
Additionally, remember that mentors do not promote their own services or personal interests during the session. Uphold confidentiality and honor non-disclosure agreements (NDAs). Respect remains crucial; avoid any violent, racist, sexual, or disrespectful behavior. If issues arise, the mentor can end the session, and we may take appropriate legal action if needed.
To ensure a smooth mentorship session, gather the following essential equipment. Since the sessions occur online, use a computer instead of a smartphone or tablet. Also, check your Internet speed beforehand; aim for at least 4mb/s for a stable connection.
Furthermore, have all relevant materials on hand, such as your portfolio, demoreel, and personal work. This preparation helps you avoid delays and maximize your time with the mentor.
Recording a mentorship session, whether audio or video, is strictly prohibited. Violating this rule may lead to sanctions.
You can modify a mentorship session that you’ve already scheduled. Make sure to request these changes at least 48 hours before the original appointment. If you need to cancel, your mentor will propose an alternative date. If the new slot doesn’t fit your schedule, the session won’t be counted.
If you miss a mentorship session, it will count as a completed session. However, if your mentor misses the session, it won’t count. Also, you have a 5-minute grace period if you arrive late.
